Minima skin variation assistance

Postby Anthony ODoibhailein » Thu Nov 21, 2013 11:01 pm

I have set up nucleus on a site and am working to get things working more neatly.
the site is here:
http://www.sparcs-scotland.org/sparcsnews/

Hope it looks ok.

I was wanting to have the content and main news items not go off the page but to hide at an appropriate point maybe about 100 pixels from the bottom of the page so that they were not visible but scrollable. I have tried achieving this with the css file for minima but the overflow and hidden did not achieve what I wanted.

I'm sure its not a complex issue to resolve to the more experienced eye.
Anyone any inputs at all?

In minima.css, add to #main, and to #sidebar:

Code: Select all

height: 540px;
overflow-y: scroll;

Many thanks for that Willy. A simple and effective change.
I had forgotten all about the scroll attribute.

Every step is another bit learned and hopefully remembered!

I have another blog I've setup which uses the clean skin. I've adjusted things to fit to where I want it to be but there are a few issues for me still to resolve.
The blog is here:
http://www.saintfrancispipeband.com/markingtime/

I was looking to have the wrapper start under the 'marking time' banner and for the content within the wrapper to scroll but for some reason the content scroll doesn't seem to work beyond a certain height. The scroll bar doesn't function. I'm fairly sure it may be to do with a height attribute somewhere but I can't see it.

Again any inputs most welcome as ever.

I suspect it has to do with the featured item block. Try removing, or commenting out the entire div id="featured and see if it works.
