Setting background image in minima skin

Postby Anthony ODoibhailein » Tue Mar 12, 2013 10:58 pm

I'm setting up a nucleus blog and am using the minima skin.
I want to add a background image and know that I need to add a div for this. What I'm not getting is where I should be putting the div. I have tried a few times but with no luck.
I'm sure this is quite easy but maybe I've been looking at it too long!

Any suggestions?

The blog is here:

The distorted graphic at the top is what I want to be behind the blog. I can set it up as a header and a footer but would like to try to achieve the background image.

You don't necessarily need to add more divs. Whether or not you add a div, depends on what the current structure is, and where you want the background to be. Backgrounds can be added to most elements. Apply the background in the css file, not inline.

I assume you want this image, to match the other pages:

However, before making any more additions, you really should fix the xhtml errors.

Moving things on...

Hello Willy, Many thanks as ever for your input.
I have just managed to learn a bit more and have indeed set up the back ground in the CSS.
Enjoying the opportunity to learn more with nucleus. Its giving me a degree of control and insight to elements of coding.

I need to now tidy things up with the header and then I hope to move onto my next challenge.
