Building publicity about the skins contest

Postby Leng » Sat Nov 19, 2005 3:44 am

I just did a quick Google for the Skins Contest and I was sad to find only 2 blog posts about the skins contest on the first page of results - my own and a Japanese site which translated with WorldLingo said something not entirely comprehensible:

http://blogstyle.biz/ wrote:The skin contest of Nucleus starts. 140 dollars being not to be many excessively from 40 dollars, it does, the prize, but there is a value which tries applying? (link - entry dated 31 Oct 2005)

1. Are they saying that there isn't sufficient prize incentive? :(

2. How come there are no other blogs about the skins contest? Come on people, let's get some publicity going!

Nucleus Skin Contest has begun. Although prizes range from $40 to $140 only, it's still worth giving a try.

Nucleus and WordPress use skins and templates which can be created, and then downloaded for users to use.

And then something about StyleCatcher.

The reply to your comment is merely a translated version of your comment, prefaced by "Thank you, Leng".

Why isn't there a link on the homepage to the sin design contest site?

I lost track of what was going on a few weeks ago, when there were 4-5 new posts about it a day. It didn't seem too organised at the time, so I lost interest/track.

Now that it's brought to my attention again, I'll add the button and mention it. Not that it helps much, given the low amount of visitors to my blog, but hey, it's something

I'm not sure who can author front page posts - I assume the dev team can make posts. Could someone perhaps post a little blurb about it on the home page? :)

Check this out: http://www.pmachine.com/shootout/

I think in order to build publicity we need high profile judges.
