I'd say: core modifications are not allowed.
Off course you are free to document core changes and provide modified files, but I'd vote that the judges don't take that into account when judging the skin.

(Side note: maybe the forms should be part of the skin in some way in future Nucleus version?)

Yes, they should be, I vote for this.

Because many times the search form is changed to adapt to a skin, I had this problem on the skins site.

Exactly what roel said. And I definitely agree on the second part.

I have a question about submitting a skin!

Do we get any confirmation email or something once we have submitted the skin?
I have submitted a skin, but I'm not sure if it got trough, I never recieved any notice
that I'm in the competition or not... I know it's a long way to the deadline stil, but it
would be nice to know if it got trough :)

Edit: What do I do if I find out I need to make a revised versjon of my skin?
Say I find an error and want to correct it, how do I do that when the skin is already submitted? A stupid link I added in the last minut doesn't validate, and I didn't bother to check it

Legolas programmed in a confirmation screen after the submission form. But I can tell you right now we have received your entry, safe and sound.

Just resubmit your skin and in the notes section let us know this is a revision of your previous entry. :D

Great! Thnx for the answers :D

Isn't it strange, how you always seem to find something to tweak after you've made a
decision to submitt what you've made?

I've got a request, or rather an idea actualy!
In the future, I'm sure there will be other competitions coming up, and I have an idea for
designers to submitt and maintain their submission.

Once you submitt something to the compo, you'r assigned a dedicated web-page that
holds all info about your entry, link to demo site etc etc.
This page is offcourse only accesible by the entrant and admins/judges.
This way the contestant can upload new versions/revisions of his entry until a give date of the competition.
After the set date, the page is no longer accessible to the contestant.

Just some blurb from the top of my mind right now...

do we really only have 3 entries so far?

I realized this : most of the sites running nucleus either use one of 3 skins, leaf, leila, or the one with the running impala, just slightly modified to have a different banner.

but there are a lot of sites out there that have their own homemade skins, maybe include them into the contest? as a "best nucleus skin implementation"?

i guess that kinda misses the point, the contest being about publicity and getting more skins for people to use.

im sick right now and not making any sense, s i'll shut up :)
