Perpetual internet dummy newbie loves Nucleus needs a hand

Postby michaelslevinson » Tue Dec 13, 2011 10:38 pm

Hi

Thanks to Nucleus and a moderator who set my site up I've had 140,000 hits this year. I owe this to that moderator and to the good karma I felt in this forum that led me to go with Nucleus.

I am working on a legal brief, challenging the broadcast licenses of ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, FOX, and CNN for their failure to allow me access to broadcast a political speech as i am an independent write - in candidate for U. S President and working hard on that.

I'd like to put the whole brief as a file on the website. Can that be done, or just upload the brief as a pdf that downloads as a link.

http://michaelslevinson.com is also http://levinson4president.com

I need to install an RSS. Could someone tell me how to set up an RSS. One of the people responding to my site keeps posting where is my RSS.

I really do not know very much. I figured out how to upload a blog - then I move it to another section. It was only by accident I figured out how to improve the looks of all the video I have on the page. I stumbled into a page with the html code.

The moderators name was Frank.

Visit my site! I have not posted here in ages but I am a loyal Nucleus user and my website is the best political website in the world. I love nucleus!

Is this code for RSS?

Postby michaelslevinson » Thu Dec 15, 2011 5:02 am

OK I see the two lines of verse (code basically unreadable gobble-gook but to you guys verse)
so what do I do with the two lines - install them on the bottom of a page. What do they do - probably everything.

I will try them out tomorrow to see what gives. I am working on renumbering the paragraphs and making sure the supra cites are to the right pages in the 500 page legal brief I am going to submit to Federal Court and bring down a half dozen billion dollar networks.

Is that what the two lines of code do - set up an RSS feed where I am the feeder? I guess i will find out first thing in the a.m.

Is Frank Trusscot still around?

In good faith

I sort of tried one

I clicked on one line and a box came down so I hit save and I guess it set up a file in my email program. Does this mean that with that line on a page, someone will click and then an RSS feed (whatever that is) will be in their email ap so whenever I add anything their computer starts breathing heavy. Is that what will ha pen. That would be good.

Find out tomorrow. :D

RSS FEED (continued)

Postby michaelslevinson » Thu Dec 15, 2011 2:48 pm

Yikes it works!

I pasted the http://michaelslevinson line of code (above) into one of the blog pages, to test it, but instead of creating a highlighted link it came up as just the code, unlinked.

So I pasted the link into the URL and BEAUTIFUL! It said to click on live bookmarks so every time a page changed, etc. Exactly what I wanted. Perfect! That's why I love Nucleus blog though I have not been around in a while. But on this page - in this forum the people who know the answers to these mini-prob limbs simply cut to the chase with the solution.

I looked at the html from a couple links on the page and thought I had left out the " " but when I looked at the html in the Nucleus Text editor it was there. (see below)

The work around is to write something like Paste this code into your URL to sign up for my RSS Feed. That's OK. Better would be click on this code to subscribe to my RSS Feed. Here is the code Nucleus generated. What I need to change i of course don't know.
