After installing CommentControl, go to CommentControl Edit Options on the Plugins page. Set"Moderate comments older than x days" to 0. Comments made will be moderated, which you can handle under CommentControl Admin on the Plugins page.

What you see in the file is a relative URL. The file is relative to the file being accessed. What you suggest is a full path, starting with http://. Using a relative or full path seems to be partly a matter of preference. However, if you plan on moving your website to a different server (for instanc...

What I thought was a NucleusCMS issue is apparently not related so much to NucleusCMS but rather to how my OS and LAMP server are set up. That is, I also keep a wiki using other open source software on my internal server. Moving it has caused a similar problem. I can read the wiki but when I edit an...

I'll search online in these areas through the day, see what can be determined and post back to here to let you know.

I do not see ay indication of mod_security being installed or even available (which means I probably did not download it).

Is it possible that permissions are set too wide open, causing LAMP not to process MySQL-related requests properly?

These are error logs from Jan 24. I deleted one for a client that is unrelated. Other than that, these are all the lines from that day for /var/log/apache2/error.log and /var/log/apache2/error.log.1. [Thu Jan 24 15:19:13 2013] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: /var/www/favicon.ico [Thu...

I use NP_BadBehavior coupled with Project Honey Pot (in plugins admin) on several sites. Typically it is difficult to block all spam but once I implemented those, the amount of spam in my inbox dropped.

I'm not seeing anything specifically marked as an error message in the access log. Here is what is there during the times I was installing Nucleus most recently. Some of the following may relate to uninstalling the database to attempt another installation: 127.0.0.1 - - [24/Jan/2013:15:32:55 -0500] ...

Ubuntu Install Issue

I run a test server on a laptop. In the past, used WAMP on Vista but upgraded to Ubuntu 12.10 and LAMP with PHP 5.4.6-1ubuntu1.1 and MySQL 5.5.29-0ubuntu0.12.10.1. I virtualize my local domains and am trying install Nucleus to http://nucleus/. Permissions are set wide open. When installing Nucleus, ...

Willing to test

If testing is needed, I will help. I have a test server I would install a new version on. I could also do a test upgrade there. And could put up a new version Nucleus site on a production test domain.

What you describe was replicated by adding the code you were given to a site and visiting it without being logged in. Once someone has logged in, the problem goes away. This can be avoided by adding a conditional: <%if(loggedin)%> <a href="<%addlink%>" onclick="<%addpopupcode%...

NP_BadBehavior works well. While nothing will trap 100% of spam, this catches a lot of it.

If you search the forums for recent posts on spam, I think you may find other proven advice. (Hint: if the forum search doesn't help, search Google with site:nucleuscms.org spam.)

globalfunctions.php is in nucleus/libs. The nucleus directory is in your root, where extra, media and skins directories also reside. Around line 54, you will see $CONF['alertOnHeadersSent'] = 1; I believe that if you change that 1 to 0, you will no longer see the warning. However, the underlying pro...

If I understand your question, you are looking for a way to show one set of content to a registered user while a user who is not registered sees another set of content. This is done using if statements. <%if(loggedin)%> You are <%member(yourrealname)%>. Or use other code that generat...
