I have accounts on both their freebie and paid hosts.

Some scammers have been creating problems on the freebie host. So the php restrictions were put in. Word Press has to be modified to work there.

I prefer NucleusCMS and textpattern over all the others I have tried.

On one of my web hosts, NucleusCMS is the only CMS that works there, due to php restrictions.

I can always go back to plain html if I need to.

I would check the skin files on your computer. If they don't have those tags, get the skin from the site you downloaded it from. Re-upload the files to your web site.

I've had good results from http://www.crosswinds.net/ been there almost 10 years. They have a freebie host at http://www.cwahi.net/ currently only sub-domains although they are working on that. Both of my sites on cwahi are NucleusCMS sites.

You don't need to know php to edit the files.

Just use NoteTabLifght or EdpitPadLite, search and replace, upload the edited files to your site.

For myself, I like Nucleus. I think textpattern is better than Wordpress.

Sad to see Nucleus fade away. I'm not a php coder either.

My web host originally put an IP address on my control panel page I had to use for the mysql server. Last year they changed it to 'localhost'. So it is possible they use an IP address.

Yeah, that doesn't look like any of the templates I've seen. I looked at all of them couple of years ago so I could decide which one to use.

The mysql list doesn't look familiar either.

I did a web search, Z-Afara seems to use zadmin as part of their package.

I use google ads, yup, just paste the ad code into the footer and sidebar.

The 200x200 pixel adverts are good for left sidebar. 400x16 text goot for footer.

Video ads are good in the footer to.
